Markus Oberg
Markus Oberg studied business administration at Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel, with a semester spent in Lund, Sweden. His native language is German, and he is also business-proficient in English and fluent in Swedish.
His expertise lies in areas where licensing issues extend beyond Oracle. He is familiar with the SAM tools market, organizes projects, oversees the trade in used software, and handles licensing issues in corporate transactions. As an Oracle licensing professional, he possesses the necessary licensing expertise. His true strength, however, lies in connecting clients with issues involving other vendors—such as SAP, IBM, Microsoft, and Adobe—as well as fostering relationships between ProLicense and its partners. This network enables the breadth of services that ProLicense offers today.
He is also chairman of the Lighthouse Alliance, an alliance of user companies that relies on swarm intelligence. Members anonymously share their knowledge and experiences regarding software asset management, cloud management tools, and defending against software audits. Instead of each company learning the same lessons individually and at great expense, everyone learns from one another. The alliance now includes over 46 companies, including several DAX-listed corporations.
